Continuing the Work
Building on Progress. Preparing for the Future.
When I first took office, my goal was clear: modernize the Recorder’s Office, expand access to public records, and ensure residents receive fast, secure, and reliable service.
Together, we’ve made significant progress. But the work of strengthening and modernizing public records never stops.
If reelected, I will continue focusing on the priorities that matter most to Washoe County residents.
1. Protecting Property Rights in a Digital World
As technology evolves, protecting property ownership records becomes even more critical.
I will continue to:
Strengthen safeguards against fraud and unauthorized filings
Ensure secure digital recording systems
Protect the integrity and accuracy of official public records
Maintain strong compliance with state and national standards
Property ownership is foundational to our community and economy. Protecting it remains my top responsibility.
2. Expanding Smart, Secure Online Services
We’ve made tremendous progress in expanding online access, with 90% of documents now recorded electronically.
Next steps include:
Enhancing system usability and reliability
Continuing improvements to digital access
Exploring new tools that improve efficiency while maintaining security
Reducing unnecessary in-person barriers
Government services should be accessible, secure, and user-friendly.
3. Maintaining Fast, Reliable Service
Washoe County continues to grow, and the Recorder’s Office must keep pace.
I will continue to:
Maintain less than 24-hour turnaround times
Improve operational efficiency
Support homeowners, businesses, and real estate professionals
Ensure consistent, high-quality customer service
Our office should remain known for professionalism and reliability.
4. Responsible Stewardship of Public Resources
The Recorder’s Office processes over $46 million annually in fees and property transfer taxes.
I will continue to:
Manage public funds responsibly
Operate efficiently and transparently
Ensure taxpayer resources are used wisely
Provide accountable leadership
Moving Forward Together
The Recorder’s Office plays a quiet but essential role in protecting property ownership and supporting Washoe County’s growth.
My commitment is simple:
Protect property rights
Modernize responsibly
Deliver efficient service
Maintain public trust
I look forward to continuing the work on behalf of Washoe County residents.
